Il est vrai que dans une société où les hommes sont nés avant la honte, la culture de la démission est inexistante. Il est tout aussi vrai que dans notre pays, démissionner est souvent perçu comme un aveu d’échec, une forme de renonciation face aux missions assignées. Mais un homme, un vrai, doit savoir, à un certain moment de l’histoire, prendre ses responsabilités. Les prendre pour garantir sa dignité, son honneur. C’est une honte, voire un déshonneur de voir les noms de plusieurs pères de famille être associés à des affaires aussi sales que les abus sexuels dans le football.
Qu’on se comprenne, Pierre Alain Mounguengui, l’actuel Président de la Fédération gabonaise de football (Fégafoot), n’est nullement cité ou présenté comme l’une des personnalités ayant commis ces actes affreux. Cependant, sa responsabilité, en tant que premier responsable de la Fédération gabonaise de football, est désormais engagée, étant donné qu’un de ses collaborateurs, et pas des moindres, l’actuel Président de ligue de l’Estuaire, vient d’être cité comme l’un des responsables ayant profité de sa situation, pour commettre de pareils crimes sur des mineurs. Pire, les investigations, menées par la presse internationale dans ce dossier, indiquent que le Président de la Fédération gabonaise de football a couvert les agressions sexuelles et le chantage de Serge Mombo et de Patrick Assoumou Eyi, alias Capelo. Que la justice fasse son travail
Au lieu de cela, les pontes de la Fégafoot, qui sentent la terre s’ouvrir sous leurs pieds, parlent désormais d’un complot visant à la déstabilisation de l’actuel bureau. Incroyable mais vrai ! Une fois de plus, une fois de trop, Pierre Alain Mounguengui choisit la fuite en avant là où la situation commande la responsabilité et le courage, pour mettre fin à des pratiques qui ont ruiné la vie de tant de jeunes. Lesquels ne rêvaient que d’une chose : faire carrière dans le monde du football et servir leur pays.
N’empêche, même si Mounguengui et sa bande s’inscrivent dans la politique de l’Autruche, il appartient désormais à la justice gabonaise de faire son travail : aller au bout des enquêtes pour mettre fin à un scandale qui ternit, de manière considérable, l’image du pays à l’extérieur. Que la même justice établisse les responsabilités des uns et des autres dans cette sombre affaire.
