Franck Nguema, un ministre des Sports totalement dépassé par la crise.
Voilà deux mois que le national foot est à nouveau à l’arrêt. Sauf que curieusement, le ministre des Sports prompt à communiquer sur des futilités brille par son silence. Franck Nguema ne daigne même pas, par respect pour les amoureux du ballon rond, de venir expliquer les raisons profondes de cette nouvelle crise dans l’organisation du championnat majeur de football dans notre pays. Cette attitude du ministre est la preuve d’une incompétence notoire dans la mise en œuvre d’une politique sportive dans le pays mais, mieux encore, elle révèle l’incapacité de ce ministre à assumer ses responsabilités.
Or, les responsables des clubs qui ont pris sur eux la responsabilité d’arrêter la compétition n’ont cessé de rappeler, lors de la réunion organisée le 9 mai dernier, que cette situation est consécutive au non-respect par l’Etat des engagements pris à l’entame de la saison 2022-2023. L’Etat à travers le ministère des Sports, avait en effet pris l’engagement de supporter les charges relatives au bon fonctionnement du championnat. C’est le cas notamment du paiement des salaires des 23 joueurs professionnels plafonnés à 250.000 Fcfa et de celui du coach arrêté à 300.000 Fcfa. À ces charges devaient s’ajouter la subvention de l’Etat estimée à 40 millions de FCFA, et le règlement des frais de transport, d’hébergement et de restauration des équipes, soulignent fort à propos nos confrères de Dépêche 241.
Cependant, le ministère des Sports est incapable de respecter ses engagements. Conséquence les footballeurs n’ont pas reçu de salaires depuis 6 mois, soit depuis le début du championnat, et ce, nonobstant la bonne foi des présidents des clubs d’engager les équipes sur la base des simples promesses données par Franck Nguema et la Linaf.
Une situation désolante que dénoncent les différents responsables de clubs : « Nous avions décidé de reprendre la seconde phase du championnat dans la limite de deux journées pour que dans l’intervalle le Ministère et la Linafp trouvent une solution à la problématique des arriérés des salaires des joueurs sur la saison en cours et à la seconde tranche liée à la subvention des clubs. Le Ministre des Sports avait promis de régler la situation après la double confrontation des Panthères du mois dernier. Et puis après la 4e journée. Et nous voici à la 6e journée. Jusque-là, aucun signe de la tutelle », relève l’un d’eux.
Pour tenter de se dédouaner le ministère prend pour prétexte le fait que les clubs ne se soient toujours muer en sociétés à objet sportif. Un argument qui ne tient pas et ne convainc personne. Les responsables clubs rappellent à Franck Nguema que l’Etat gabonais avait pris l’engagement d’accompagner les structures sportives tout au long de la phase de transition.
