Société de gestion des ordures au Gabon appartenant à l’Etat gabonais, Clean Africa semble avoir démissionné de sa mission de rendre Libreville et ses environs salubres.
Libreville et ses environs sont envahis par les immondices au point de s’interroger sur la réelle capacité de la Société Clean Africa à mener à bien la mission de collecte des ordures dans la capitale gabonaise. Un tour suffit, pour constater que la capitale gabonaise croule sous des tas d’immondices, ce, alors que l’entreprise située à Mindoubé avait, elle-même, établi un programme de ramassage d’ordures qui ne semble plus être d’actualité.
De Nzeng-Ayong, en passant par la devanture de l’hôpital de Nkembo, à celle de l'hôpital psychiatrique de Melen et bien d’autres quartiers de Libreville, le constat est alarmant. Toute chose qui inquiète les populations, car il s’agit d’une question de santé publique. La situation est encore plus désastreuse dans les marchés, notamment à Nkembo, Mont-Bouët et la Peyrie, où les montagnes d’ordures empêchent toute circulation des véhicules et des piétons en plus de polluer l’environnement. Les aliments consommés par les ménages sont exposés et vendus à quelques mètres des poubelles, sans que cette situation suscite la réaction de la mairie de Libreville.
Qu’est-ce qui explique une telle situation ? Pourquoi Clean Africa n’est-elle pas en mesure d’assurer sa mission ? Ce, d’autant que l'entreprise avait réceptionné, il y a quelques mois, un important lot de matériel en équipement. Il s'agissait de 30 camions-bennes à ordures ménagères, 10 bennes ampiroll, 6 bennes et 30 camions poubelles de marque Iveko. Un investissement important qui avait pour but, relevaient ses responsables, de permettre à l’entreprise d'accroître son exploitation dans le Grand Libreville.
Le problème est, semble-t-il, ailleurs. Les agents de cette société sont, depuis quelques jours, en grève. Ils revendiquent des meilleures conditions de travail. « Nous ne sommes pas déjà bien payés, mais les salaires viennent toujours en retard », dégaine un agent rencontré à son heure d’exploitation dans un quartier de Libreville. Outre les problèmes liés au retard du paiement des salaires, le personnel dit travailler dans de très mauvaises conditions. « Les conditions d’hygiène ne sont pas respectées. Nous sommes toujours exposés. Nous faisons dans la gestion des ordures ménagères, la présence des ordures dans Libreville est devenue un problème de santé publique. Etant les premiers à être exposés, nous devons être protégés, mais ce n’est pas le cas », déplore un autre agent.
Les agents vont plus loin en demandant aux autorités en place de prendre toutes leurs responsabilités dans la gestion de ladite entreprise : « La question de l’exploitation des ordures concerne, directement, la Mairie de Libreville. Il revient donc à cette entité de prendre ses responsabilités en regardant de près la gestion actuelle de cette entreprise. Nous interpellons aussi le ministre de l’Intérieur. Il faut que toutes ces entités se réunissent pour comprendre et trouver des solutions à une situation devenue insupportable à Clean Africa », conclut un des agents.
