Le commandant de bord Jean Jacques Assoumou
Pilote, ancien cadre d'Air Gabon et Directeur général d’une compagnie aérienne basée à Bangui en République Centrafricaine, Jean Jacques Assoumou (JJA), 59 ans, est originaire de la province du Woleu-Ntem au Nord du Gabon. Rencontré dans un hôtel de Johannesburg, il fait part à la Rédaction de "Top Infos Gabon" son quotidien de Pilote, une carrière professionnelle couronnée d'exploits au sommet de ses 25300 heures de vol. Un métier de navigant qu'il concilie avec sa vie familiale.

Jean Jacques Assoumou est l'un des meilleurs pilotes et managers de sa génération. Vêtu d'un tout complet blanc, de la chaussure à la casquette, il est assis autour d'une table accompagné d'une poignée de collaborateurs dans un hôtel 5 étoiles de Johannesburg en Afrique du Sud. Il tient un verre de bon cru Sud Africain à moitié plein, un vin rouge unique par son histoire et par son évolution.
Au pays de Nelson Mandela, il y est depuis un mois dans le cadre d'un stage de qualification sur un nouvel aéronef… Un stage qu'il vient d'ailleurs de terminer dans l'excellence. Par le canal d'un de ses collaborateurs, il est informé de la présence de quelques gabonais dans la structure hôtelière. Un peu surpris, il esquisse un petit sourire plein d'humilité, avant de demander à ses jeunes concitoyens de le rejoindre autour de la table. «Ne vous Gênez pas. Vous pouvez passer vos commandes», dit-il aux jeunes, et chacun décline par la suite son identité.
En attendant la mise en place du buffet, JJA évoque ses premiers pas dans la vie professionnelle: «Je suis un produit d'Air Gabon, compagnie que j'intègre en 1986 à la suite d'un concours et une formation à l'Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile en France. Après la fermeture d'Air Gabon j'ai été sollicité au Congo où j'ai occupé le poste de Directeur des opérations aériennes d'une compagnie congolaise». Après 15 années passées au pays de Denis Sassou Nguesso, Jean Jacques décide courant 2019 de regagner son pays natal pour s'occuper de sa famille. Connu pour son bon parcours professionnel, le pilote sera sollicité et promu à la tête de la nouvelle compagnie basée en Centrafrique.
Projet pour le Gabon
Au-delà de travailler hors de son pays, Jean Jacques Assoumou rêve de servir le Gabon et mûri des projets à léguer aux nouvelles générations. «Le Gabon c'est mon pays et quand on aime son pays on ne peut qu'avoir des projets pour booster son développement. Le premier projet c'est bien la compagnie aérienne que nous sommes entrain de mettre en place parce qu'il faut qu'on laisse quelque chose aux générations futures. C'est pour nous, la meilleure façon de corriger les erreurs qui ont été commises avec Air Gabon. Nous savons que le plus difficile dans l'aviation c'est de trouver la ressource humaine. Au Gabon, la ressource humaine est déjà là, il nous faut former les jeunes. Avec un peu de volonté, notre pays peut se doter d'une grande compagnie aérienne».
L'exemple du BEIAA est une opportunité.
Ayant été formé par Air Gabon, donc par l'État Gabonais, JJA attend rendre l'assesseur à son pays. Dans cette volonté de se mettre au service de sa nation, il voit également la formation des jeunes compatriotes comme une opportunité que le Gabon devrait saisir pour le développement de l'aviation civile gabonaise. «Ce serait une opportunité, si le BEIAA arrivait à intégrer ceux qui sont dans la filière pilotage ou la filière mécanique».
