La Setrag a honoré, le 8 décembre 2023, une vingtaine de ses agents de la médaille d’honneur du travail au cours d’une cérémonie présidée par la ministre du travail en personne.
Les festivités marquant la fête de Saint-Eloi à Setrag qui ont débutées le 6 décembre 2023 par le sport, se sont poursuivies le vendredi 8 du même mois par les remises de décoration à 20 agents de la Sétrag par la ministre du travail chargée de la lutte contre le chômage, Solange Marthe Guiakie épse Ayenoué.
Dans une salle de sport bondée de monde, le directeur général de la Setrag Christian Magni a pris la parole pour souhaiter la bienvenue à ses hôtes pour l’intérêt accordé à cette manifestation de décoration des médailles d’honneur du travail à ses agents. Il a par la suite rappelé à l’autorité gouvernementale les engagements de son entreprise pour la réhabilitation de la voie ferrée vieille de plus de 40 ans. Ces investissements se caractérisent par l’acquisition d’importants moyens matériels et du renforcement du capital humain par le recrutement de plus de 500 jeunes gabonais, le tout dans le but d’améliorer l’offre des capacités de transport et de contribuer à la résorption du chômage.
Ces nombreux investissements ont aussi bénéficié dans le cadre de la responsabilité sociétale de la Setrag aux populations riveraines du chemin de fer grâce aux actions d’envergures comme la distribution de 5400 kits scolaires, des consultations ophtalmologiques et la construction d’un centre de santé à Booué entièrement financé par l’entreprise.
S’adressant aux récipiendaires, le directeur général a rappelé l’adoption d’une nouvelle convention collective intégrant certaines dispositions du nouveau code du travail, la revue des dispositions liées au départ à la retraite et quelques améliorations aux éléments de rémunération en tenant compte bien-sûr du contexte économique difficile que traverse l’entreprise. Des accords qui n’ont été possible que grâce à la hauteur d’esprit des partenaires sociaux d’une part, et de la Sétrag d’autre part, toujours soucieuse de maintenir un climat social apaisé.
Intervenant à son tour, la ministre du Travail et de la Lutte contre chômage, Solange Marthe Guiakié épse Ayenoué, a situé le contexte de l’évènement en indiquant que « ces récompenses n’étaient nullement un menu à la carte qui laisse le choix à chacun et, pour le cas présent derécompenser les salariés ou de ne point le faire, est plutôt une obligation légale pour les salariés qui remplissent des critères d’ancienneté afin d’être honorer par l’Etat ».
Poursuivant son propos, la ministre du Travail et de la Lutte contre le chômage a exhorté les récipiendaires à « prendre en compte l’étendu des responsabilités » que cette distinction leur confère auprès de leurs employeurs et des collègues moins anciens, pour qu’ils deviennent des modèles, afin qu’eux aussi, puissent un jour être récompensé comme eux.
A l’adresse du directeur général, la ministre l’a exhorté à toujours cultiver le dialogue social qui est un vecteur de cohésion professionnelle et qui contribue indéniablement à assoir des bons résultats dans toutes sociétés.
