La richesse outrancière des Bongo en France fait l'objet d'enquêtes.
Un nouveau rebondissement dans l’affaire des Biens mal acquis (BMA). Le juge français, Dominique Blanc, en charge de ce dossier sensible et explosif vient d’établir grâce aux archives policières du dossier Elf, les mécanismes par lesquels le clan Bongo s’est enrichi outrancièrement, révèle Médiapart dans sa livraison de ce vendredi 02 juillet. D’après le journal d’investigation français, le juge a pu établir que c’est avec « l’argent de la corruption pétrolière que le clan présidentiel au Gabon a blanchi en France des dizaines de millions d’euros, notamment grâce à BNP ».
Un scandale qui éclabousse aussi bien plusieurs membres de la famille Bongo que la banque accusée d’avoir servi de structure de blanchiment de l’argent issu de l’exploitation pétrolière au Gabon. Si Georges Dirani, le directeur juridique de la BNP, reconnaît les carences qui auraient favorisé les opérations de blanchiment, il a cependant indiqué devant le juge, que ces carences ne constituent pas, pour autant, des infractions pénales. En définitive, rien n’est établi, d’après lui, que la banque savait que la famille Bongo tirait les ficelles de la société-taxi qui lui a permis de blanchir 35 millions d’euros (soit près de 22.882.429.395 Fcfa), relève Médiapart. Excusez du peu !
Si la banque a lors de ses déclarations devant le juge, tenté de se disculper en évoquant la méconnaissance des méthodes utilisées par le clan Bongo, le magistrat a cependant grâce aux documents et différents témoignages pu établir la richesse acquise par les Bongo en France ; « les documents en possession du juge font état des dizaines et de dizaines de millions d’euros, un patrimoine vertigineux composé d’immeubles, d’hôtels particuliers, de berlines. Ce, « alors que le pays qu’ils (les Bongo Ndlr) dirigent végète dans le besoin » se désole Médiapart.

Pire, dans un rapport de synthèse de la Police datant de septembre 2020, que Médiapart a consulté, il est établi que les fonds étaient destinés normalement au paiement du pétrole, ressource principale du pays étaient récupéré par l’ancien chef de l’Etat. « Omar Bongo récupérait à titre personnel les fonds à destination de la République gabonaise » indique ledit rapport.
Pire, poursuit le média, dans les archives, les policiers ont notamment retrouvé la trace de virements du géant pétrolier, via sa banque fermée (la Fiba), au profit personnel d’Omar Bongo, pour des millions d’euros. Les policiers ont aussi mis la main sur une lettre qu’Omar Bongo avait adressée dans les années 1990 à l’Union Bancaire privée (UBP) de Genève, en Suisse, dans laquelle il assurait être le réel bénéficiaire de l’un des comptes cachés ouverts au sein de la banque par André Tarallo, le « Monsieur Afrique » d’Elf.
