Les populations de Port-gentil mobilisées pour l'alternance démocratique.
C’est autour de 9 heures, ce mercredi 23 août qu’Albert Ondo Ossa et ses soutiens Alexandre Barro Chambrier et Mike Jocktane ont foulé le sol de la capitale provinciale de l’Ogooué-Maritime. Tour de ville, marche, ovations…dès 10 heures, la ville de Port-Gentil était en efferverscence pour saluer et addouber celui qui a été désigné, le vendredi 18 août dernier, comme le candidat consensuel de l’opposition.
Un meeting monstre à l’esplanade des pavées de la Pentecôte
Dès 14 heures, les populations se sont massivement ruées au lieu indiqué pour l’organisation du meeting. L’esplanade des pavées de la Pentecôte est noire de monde au point qu’il est difficile pour la délégation de se frayer un chemin dès son arrivée sur les lieux. Chauffer à blanc, les habitants de la ville de sable scandent en chœur ce qui est devenu l’hymne de cette campagne électorale : « Ondo Ossa président , chassons le PDG ! »
Après un rituel de bénédiction organisé par les femmes et l’hymne national chanté en chœur, les différents intervenants prennent la parole. Jean-Marie Angamboué, le représentant du comité d’organisation souligne: « Bonne arrivée M. le président chez vous ainsi que toute la délégation qui vous accompagne. Le 26 août le peuple de Port-gentil va massivement voter pour vous. »
Les candidats indépendants et des partis politiques se retirent des législatives dans les 4 communes
Puis, Yves Manfoumbi, porte-parole des indépendants aux élections législatives monte sur le podium pour annoncer le retrait officiel des listes indépendantes de l’opposition à l’élection législative dans les quatre sièges de la commune de Port-Gentil. « Nous savons qu’aujourd’hui la donne politique, c’est l’élection présidentielle. L’élection de notre président ! Nous avons décidé humblement de retirer toutes nos candidatures pour soutenir le président du changement. » Clameur ! « Nous pouvons vous assurer qu’au soir du 26 août, c’est votre bulletin qui sera largement péblicité et vous serez déclaré président de la République gabonaise », poursuit-il.
Guy Roger Wora Reteno, vice-président du parti politique REAGIR et ancien président de l’Organisation nationale des employés du pétrole ( ONEP) prend, par la suite, la parole pour rappeler que « l’histoire de ce pays a été longtemps écrite par le sang de nos frères qui se sont battus pour exiger l’alternance démocratique dans le pays. » Non sans annoncer le retrait des candidats de REAGIR à l’élection législative. « On va les écrasser ! » dégaine , Franck Rebella, ancien sénateur et représentant local du RPM. « C’est l’homme qu’il faut à la place qu’il faut » rajoute, à son tour, Georges Mpaga, le représentant de la société civile.
Micke Jocktane va, entant que directeur de campagne, appeler les populations à applaudir massivement François Ndong Obiang, le président d’Alternance 2023, pour le rôle qu’il a joué dans l’aboutissement du processus de désignation du candidat consensuel. « Ce pouvoir ne pouvait pas nous empêcher d’être ici. (…) Parce que vous l’avez demandé, nous l’avons obtenu, voici le nouveau Albert, celui qui va emener un Gabon nouveau. Ils font désormais des montages pour dire qu’Ondo Ossa et Barro Chambrier veulent destabiliser le pays. Ils ont échoué ! On veut que le Gabon retrouve sa dignité. Ali a osé, il n’a pas réussi en 14 ans , il doit partir » conclut le président d’Alternance 2023. « Zéro+ zéro = à zéro. J’ai constaté que les gabonais vivent dans l’extrême pauvreté. Je refuse de laisser entre les mains des méchants la destiné de ce pays. » renchérit Mike Jocktane.
« La population ne veut plus d’eux ! Vous allez les envoyer dans les poubelles de l’histoire parce qu’ils ont échoué. Qu’est ce qu’ils peuvent faire en 5 ans qu’ils n’ont pas fait en 14 ans. » interroge pour sa part Alexandre Barro Chambrier.

Albert Ondo Ossa va dès, sa prise de parole, demander une minute de silence pour Joseph Rendjambe et Me Fabien Mere, avant de poursuire : « Je n’ai pas été choisi parcque je suis le plus beau, le plus fort, le plus intelligent, j’ai été choisi parce que je suis le candidat indépendant. (…) On va commencer par le vote. Ce vote consiste à sanctionner le PDG. 60 ans de pouvoir c’est trop ! 60 ans d’un seul parti c’est trop ! Ce vote est un référandum : il faut chassser le PDG. »
Non sans rappeler qu’il n’y aura pas de règlements de compte ou de chasse aux sorcières. « On va remettre de l’ordre dans la justice pour qu’elle fasse son travail. Ali Bongo est un président sortant, il va bénécier de sa retraite. »
