A l’occasion d’une déclaration de presse donnée le jeudi 7 septembre, le Parti Gabonais du Progrès ( PGP) a salué la prise de pouvoir par les militaires. Le parti dirigé par Benoît Joseph Mouity Nzamba a indiqué sa disponibilité à prendre une part active au processus de refondation de l’Etat. Lecture.

Dans la nuit du 30 août 2023, les forces de défense et de sécurité ont pris le pouvoir déposant Ali Bongo Ondimba. Un pouvoir usurpé par la violence, illégitime et de prédation, était ainsi mis hors d'état de nuire. Un pouvoir sans coeur, cruel, au service d'un clan et d'une oligarchie prédatrice, arrogante et foncièrement anti-nationale. La liesse populaire dans l'ensemble du pays à l'annonce de cette nouvelle exprime le rejet total d'un système vieux de plus de 50 ans qui a réduit l'immense majorité du peuple à la pauvreté et à la précarité.
Face à ce qui se présentait déjà comme une mascarade électorale porteuse de graves risques pour le peuple gabonais, le PGP appelait à une transition mais de rupture avec l'ordre ancien pour préparer les conditions de l'avènement d'un véritable État de droit assurant la souveraineté et l'indépendance réelle du Gabon. C'est ici l'occasion de saluer avec respect et reconnaissance l'heureuse et courageuse initiative des Notables, Dignitaires et Sages de la République, militant dans le même sens. Riches de leur expérience inestimable et mûs par un sens patriotique digne d'éloge nos "Doyens ces dignes Anciens" pour reprendre les vers de Jean-Jacques Boucavel dans son poème " Gabon ma patrie" continueront de nous inspirer tout au long de l'étape actuelle de notre combat pour la liberté.
Le CTRI se présente lui aussi comme s'inscrivant sur cette même voie. Comme autrefois Jerry Rawlings au Ghana à l'époque gangrenée par la corruption et la négation des droits démocratiques, le Général Oligui Nguema et ses compagnons des forces de Défense et de Sécurité, ont pris leur responsabilité.
Nous saluons leur lucidité et leur courage et les actes qu'ils posent tels la récupération des centaines de milliards stockés dans les résidences de la pègre déchue, la libération des prisonniers politiques à l'instar de celle du Président de Dynamique Unitaire et du SNEC, Jean Rémy Yama emportent notre soutien.
De ce qui précède, le PGP prend acte de la volonté affirmée par le CTRI d'un Gabon réellement démocratique.
Le PGP prendra une part active à ce processus pour la refondation de l'Etat qui passe par la mise en place des conditions de possibilité de la souveraineté du Gabon, de son indépendance réelle. Le PGP le fera avec l'ensemble des démocrates et des patriotes désireux de libérer le Gabon des chaînes qui entravent son développement et le bien- être de ses habitants.
Aux progressistes et à leurs sympathisants, dans l'unité, mobilisation et vigilance sur l'ensemble du territoire national. L'intelligence collective du peuple nous aidera à surmonter les obstacles qui ne manqueront pas sur notre route vers la libération.
